What is vascular laser treatment?
A vascular laser treatment is a non-invasive cosmetic procedure performed at our office that uses a specific laser energy to target and eliminate unwanted blood vessels in the skin. This treatment is commonly used to treat conditions such as spider veins, rosacea, and broken blood vessels.
The laser works by producing a specific wavelength of light absorbed by the hemoglobin in the blood vessels. This heats the blood vessels, causing them to eventually collapse and disappear over time. The laser does not affect the surrounding skin and tissues, making it a safe and effective treatment option when operated appropriately.
What can be achieved with vascular laser treatments?
At Aura Dermatologie, we use the Lumenis M22TM long pulsed Nd: YAG laser (1064nm) to treat or improve the following concerns on all skin types (including dark skin tones):
- Dilated vessels located deeper in the skin
- Angiomas located deeper in the skin
- Dilated veins on the lips
- Varicose veins on the legs
- Blue and purple veins
